Veterinary Technician

Cedar Vale

Veterinary Technicians work closely with veterinarians to ensure seamless care for patients. Vet Techs work on the technical side of veterinary care so that doctors can focus on their duties. Veterinary Technicians can perform some veterinarian duties, as long as a doctor is on site. Since they must graduate from a program and obtain licensing, Vet Techs hold a respected position and should use their skills to contribute to the success of the clinic. Vet Techs work closely with clients, so it is important that they communicate clearly and respectfully.

Veterinary Technicians can expect to work Monday – Friday from 7:45 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., although it may be necessary to stay late on some occasions. Vet Techs will work in the clinic unless directed to assist with a farm or household call or appointment. They can also expect to work Saturday mornings (8:00 a.m. until noon), about once a month.
